April begins on such a positive note this year. The Creation team sends out a basket full of warm wishes and blessings to all your near and dear ones on the happy occasion of Easter!

Last month has been a bustling one for us all. From 18th to 23rd March, we were at the biennial Light + Building fair, in Frankfurt in which 2700 exhibitors displayed the latest products in lighting, electrical engineering as well as home and building automation.

Returning with a deep insight into how our digital future will merge with design, we explored the fair that was based on the theme “Connected – Secure – Convenient” and focused on ‘The smartification of everyday life’ and ‘Aesthetics and well-being in harmony’. Our interaction with leaders in the industry who are passionate about lighting is sure to help us forge our way into the new world order in which there are no spaces and no gaps between man and his machinery.
At the controls of well-being

The Retreat Resort, a 253-key property, is the latest star to shine on the Palm Jumeirah. Positioned as a holistic health and wellness resort, the property owned by R holdings is operated by Sofitel. Its interiors wear an organic look in line with its concept- using natural design elements like wood. Its furnishings and interiors wear earth colour elements to complete the feel.

With a strong focus on well-being, the property features a restaurant with a healthy menu; gym and a tennis court; an area dedicated for fitness classes; swimming pool and private beach facilities. The hotel will also have a separate spa for men and women with hammam, sauna, steam bath and treatment rooms.

Creation was called on site to supply, test, and commission the lighting control systems in the Main Lobby, the All-Day Dining Café, the façade, and the entire outdoor landscape area.
A combination of Mode Lighting, Pharos Controls, and Artistic License was implemented for the complete solution. The interiors and landscape areas consisted of fixtures supplied by LuxLab which implemented various dimming protocols including Phase dimming, 1-10V, and DALI. For the façade, RGB dots and strips are installed that permit various dynamic effects. All the control modules were then seamlessly integrated over an IP network backbone.

"The Retreat Resort project took a year from start to finish and during the course of the project’s execution, in order to expedite the installation process and ensure a smooth completion, we were also awarded a project management contract wherein we had to guide and supervise the contractor for the control cabling and installation," reveals Mr. Patel.

In a resort dedicated to wellness, the feel-good factor begins as soon as you enter the Main Lobby, and it is here that the controlled lighting cocoons the guests in a sense of well-being that extends far inside. Creation’s hospitality solutions have embraced every kind of hotel property, whether it caters to the business segment or the leisure traveler.

Bab Al Shams Reimagined

Creation Gulf completed a prestigious project at Bab Al Shams Desert Resort in Dubai. The project involved the supply, testing, installation and commissioning of GRMS that includes the Lighting Control system for the 105 Standard rooms and 10 Suites. The lighting design was carefully curated to elevate the guest experience.

Lights On at City Social!

The process of creating perfect lighting design involves many stakeholders and requires careful attention to deadlines and fixture order lead times, but the end result can be stunning and transformative. At City Social, our most recent project at Grosvenor House, #TeamCreation was tasked with supplying light fixtures that allowed the lighting designer to achieve their design intent.
