It’s the one-stop destination for residents and tourists, with a complete range of dining delights offering something for everyone, from gourmet dining to casual family restaurants.

At The Pointe, Creation has recently handed over three new medium scale restaurants- A Cappella, Fat Chow and Mama Pho. The fourth finished outlet that's receiving rave reviews is the award-winning outdoor terrace bar and lounge at The Ritz Carlton, DIFC called Flair No.5.

Flair No.5, the garden terrace style bar and lounge at The Ritz-Carlton in DIFC is Dubai's newest tropical watering hole.

With light settings to allow for day to evening needs, in an outdoor environment, LW Design specified basic parameters such as the lumen-outputs, beam angles, color temperatures etc. They asked for a feasible, budget friendly and reliable solution. We selected and proposed fixtures from Gallis, Orluna, Luci, and Acolyte to match the project requirement. 

“Mode Lighting control systems were the preferred automation solution, since the applications included plenty of Mains Dimmable and DALI Dimmable lights. Mode Lighting allowed for quick change of scene settings with flexibility to easily alter brightness levels at later stages,” elaborates Mr. Dharmendra Patel, MD, Creation.

Lights form the central spine of this restaurant's ambience. “We had worked with the owners of this chain before, and with Light.Func Lighting Designers. This time too, we were retained to provide a flexible DALI system capable of dynamic scenes and sequences which also allows control via smart devices.

“We used Helvar systems as the project was primarily DALI having a mix of RGB and Monochromatic fixtures. Since the restaurant aims to have many events (such as sports nights and ladies nights), they wanted options to create and trigger multiple scenes/sequences with varied combinations of colours. Helvar's DALI based architecture and ease of programming gave this freedom to the designers and clients,” reveals Mr. Dharmendra Patel.

In fact, Helvar Dimming controls were used at Mama Pho and Fat Chow too. These two medium scale restaurants are also to open at The Pointe Mall. At Mama Pho, Creation joined up with a local distributor for light fixtures.

A complete dimming solution was jointly proposed in which Creation took care of the automation part. Hanging bamboo pendant shades are the focal point of Mama Pho's Vietnamese inspired decor. Whereas obvious Chinese origin is evident within the interiors at Fat Chow, an authentic Asian restaurant at The Pointe.

“Especially since we worked as a team for Al Nakheel, our client, we went the extra mile to ensure smooth co-ordination and compatibility testing for all lights and control equipment,” says Mr. Patel.
