Garage, W Lounge, WET Deck and Roastery are the new food and beverage outlets that have opened.
The W Hotel project team for Al Aldar included; Main Contractor- Al Tayer Stocks, Lighting Design- CD+M, MEP consultants- WME; Interior Design- DWP.
Creation was retained for the supply, testing and commissioning of lighting and controls. The scope of work included the W Lounge and Garage. This is an a la carte food hub that includes five mini outlets that has a similar vibe to a hip foodhall that you might find in a big European city: Steam Table serving up noodles and dumplings, Nikkei House offering Pervian/Japanese cuisine, Mezza Bar focusing on Lebanese Mezze, Meat Vault offering grilled cuts and Tart Van which only serves tarts. We also did the lighting for the Wet Deck upstairs on the ninth floor, WET Deck is the hotel's new Alfresco venue and comes with fantastic views of Yas Marina Circuit.
Doing their thing to keep lighting under control at the W are three capable brands Mode Lighting, Helvar and Pharos controls. This coupled with an entire selection of lighting fixture brands such as Avolux, LED Linear, LEDS C4, Linea Light and Davide Groppi weave their magic spell over all the lounge and restaurant spaces at the W.
This project was defined by its short timeline and quick turnaround. “Overall the project was finished by us in 4 months. We achieved this by proper man management and working overtime. Towards the end we even worked night shifts so that we do not interfere with other preparations for opening. We have a reputation for working on a budget without compromising quality and at the W we managed to safeguard it,” says Mr. Patel.
