Zaha Hadid’s magnum Opus comes to life

The Opus’ - Dame Zaha Hadid’s first project in Dubai has all the hallmark of an iconic structure that will attract visitors. Similarly, ME by Melia’s first foray in Dubai at ‘The Opus’ makes it a must visit destination for discerning customers. At Creation, we treasure our association and contribution towards this prestigious project. 

It combines residential apartments and a designer hotel operated by the leading ME by Melia Hotels International. The Opus is associated with several world class enterprises that make it a destination in its own right. Dame Zaha Hadid designed both the interiors as well as the exteriors of the project.

We have programmed the Pharos Control System for DMX controlled RGB façade lights. According to Mr. Dharmendra Patel, MD, Creation, “Due to the sheer scale of the project, the overall system was quite complex. Especially challenging was the task of programming wherein thousands of lights had to be correctly mapped and addressed, tested and patched individually in the software”.

“During the day, The Opus is a luminous surface, reflecting the dazzling Dubai sun, with the LED lighting highlighting the vivid character of the building in the evening.” he elaborates. 

It is our in-house expertise and successful track record that prompted Pharos to recommend us to undertake Project Management of their Architectural DMX system. We oversaw the project for the façade lighting controls over a period of two years says Mr. Dharmendra Patel.

Creation was retained for the supply, testing and commissioning of Helvar Lighting Control Systems for the All Day Dining area, Spa, Gym, and some BoH areas of ‘ME by Melia’. “We had worked with Bond Interiors in the past and this project was through their recommendation,” explains Mr. Patel.
